Posted on May 29, 2008
There’s another article comparing Scarlett Johansson to Zooey on the LA Times blog:
With a pair of Hollywood starlets gracing the world with albums this fall, could their combined box office draws pump some life into a struggling music industry?
Not quite, but early results have Zooey Deschanel’s bid at a music career faring a bit better than that of her superstar peer, Scarlett Johansson.

Daily Telegraph: “Zooey trumps Lindsay, Britney”
Posted on May 24, 2008

The Daily Telegraph has an article on Zooey:
ZOOEY Deschanel isn’t in a hurry to be a Hollywood leading lady. But coming from a showbiz dynasty, the Deschanel family, she understandably still has great ambitions to succeed.
“I think it’s better to take a good supporting role than a bad leading role,” she said. “But I’d prefer a leading role if they’re equally good.”
Deschanel has been getting her wish. She is soon to star in the upcoming M.Night Shyamalan horror flick The Happening.
She was also chosen over Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears to play Janis Joplin in the movie The Gospel According To Janis, although it is now on hold.

She & Him Video Interview on MTV.com
Posted on May 17, 2008

There’s a quick video interview with Zooey and Matt on MTV.com. They’re both quite awesome in it. Check out the video (embedded in the article at MTV.com) here. The accompanying article is below:
When Matt met Zooey, it was, naturally, on the set of a movie. They bonded over their love of British singer/songwriter Richard Thompson and decided to make an album. This is how these things generally tend to happen.
“We met on the set of this film ‘The Go-Getter,’ and the director of the movie wanted us to do a duet for the end credits,” Zooey said. “We did a Richard & Linda Thompson song, and that was one of the first things that was exciting about talking to Matt. We had a lot of the same favorite songs and favorite artists, and we admire people that I don’t necessarily bring up in conversations, because most people have no idea what I’m talking about.”
